Decorative and Faux Finishes

Many painting techniques are devised to get the most ‘wow’ factor from two-dimensional walls, ceilings, and accents. Combinations of colors and textures can achieve other levels of sophistication that straight colors cannot convey. The samples shown here are just the ‘tip of the iceberg.’ The artful finishes that have been devised and implemented for our designers and clients are numerous. I constantly create new finishes and they have held up very well for many years.

Faux finishes replicate worldly, three-dimensional textures onto neutral surfaces. Examples: painted wood-graining on cabinets or stone and plaster finishes on wall surfaces.

Decorative finishes are color and texture combinations that dramatically enhance and accent. Examples: Stripes, Diamonds, and many types of multi-colored glazes.
